Glub celebrates Rain stops play, but event will go ahead ^ a successful
^ photo season
THE best is sometimes left to last and the final indoor meeting of the season for Ribblesdale, Camera Club was a ■viewing of .the Inter-Club Photographic Alliance’s monochrome folio.
:• Why the best? - because Ribblesdale
. . won the competition by a very \vide mar gin and received a trophy for their suc cess. Prints from Raymond Greenwood, Dennis Kendal, Graham Dudley and . Stewart Clark made up the winning .
; ; quartet of images. The other big news of the evening was "'
• the results of the Lancashire and: -Cheshire Photographic Union’s annual
; competition, an organisation of about- 100 clubs, whose annual competition
- attracted around 6,500 entries. ■ ' : . In four of the five classes Ribblesdale finished twice at 20th, 23rd and 27th, a ' ; good result for a club of its size. Natural •
. History Prints were especially successful - however, with fifth place. Sue Marsden: led the way here ■with third place for her •
; "Bengal White Tiger” , against fierce, opposition. Sue’s entry has been retained for the Union’s Natural History folio, as
■' ■ was Stephen Robinson’s “Ruff in-Winter Plumage” . . Other images to make the folios were in
tiie General Colour Prints section from Ken Geddes, Graham Dudley (two) and Les Marklew; Stewart Clark in the Monochrome Prints; John Bradley and Mike Bartle in the General Colour Slides. This also represented a high ratio of
■ retentions to entries in comparison ■with other, similar clubs, again a pleasing result. •The next summer club meeting, on
June 10th, ■will be a stroll around Pendle ton led by Chairman John Bradley. Information on the club can be obtained from the chairman on 01254 822921 or the secretary on 01200 423474.
