ALMOST 400 people, over the course of three nights, left the comfort of their fire sides to watch "Secondary cause of Death" performed by Trinity Drama Group. The extremely funny play delighted them

all. Written by Peter Gordon and a follow- on to the first of three plays "Murder to Death," performed by the group in 1998, the central character. Inspector Pratt (played by Kim Croydon) kept the audience in side splitting laughter from start to finish. Steuart Kellington offered a "magnificent

performance" in the dual role of Colonel Craddock and thespian Cardew Longfellow as he more than added to the cpmplicated plot. Nobody turned out to be quite as they started off, as double agent Henrietta Card- ington-Smythe (Bridget Smith) agent Lily the cook (Cynthia Croydon). Count Puschlick (Norman Pedley) and with Lady Isadora out for revenge (Madeline Adey), bodies were dropping like flies throughout the story. Housekeeper Martha (Hazel Hailwood)

and poor Nurse Parsley (Carol Baird) came to sticky ends, not entirely due to their own fault and the domineering Cynthia Maple (played with gusto by Pat Bowker) turned out to be far from a nice, elderly lady who organised murder mystery weekends. Fine performances by the whole cast kept

the audience laughing throughout the play. Stage manager Roland Hailwood offered his usual superb set and the background team rounded off a tonic for winter nights. The play was produced by Joan Willock. JW
