Coastal travel The ladies of Sawley WI were treated to a most interesting presentation enti tled “A Journey Coast to Coast by Harley Davison”.
It was given by Mr Norman Harris. His photographs gave a graphic description of the varied and wonder ful . landscapes across the US. Much of the jour ney followed the famous Route 66 which in some parts seemed to be just a track.

SIMONSTONE
Excellent night Members of Simon stone with Read Women’s Institute enjoyed a wonder ful evening at the April meeting when Mrs Carole Banks spoke about “Bath, the story of a city.” She outlined the history and how the spa city began and was, everyone agreed, an excellent, speaker. ■
The Readstone Singers, the WI’s ladies’ choir, will celebrate 25 years with a concert in St John’s Church, Read on Monday, May 19th, at 7-30 p.m. The institute iooks forward to sharing the event with as many peo ple as possible, with admission priced £4, to include wine and cake.
On May 18th, ladies are invited to the meeting in Simon stone Old School at 7-30 p.m. when the resolution tor the WI’s annual meet ing will be dis cussed and there will be a minihandi craft show. ■
