wide range of scientific knowl edge. After a tie-breaking final

question, the team from St Mary’s RC Primary School, Osbaldeston, emerged as the inaugural winners and were presented with the St Augus tine’s Science College Primary Challenge Cup. Our picture shows the win

co-ordinator for Ribblesdale High, said he was delighted with the company’s success. He added: “I’m very pleased. The press

advert was designed by 15-year-olds Ash- leigh Williams and Jay Jay Rainford, but it was a great team effort. “Winning the competitions is a reflec

ENTERPRISING pupils from a Ribble Valley school competed in a county challenge. And the group representing Ribbles-

dale High School Technology College went on to win. Competing against more than 50

schools from across the country, the Val ley team won the Lancashire Education Business Partnership Enterprise Chal lenge. The Ribblesdale team reached the

final, which was held at Broughton Busi ness and Enterprise College, after win ning the Hyndburn, Ribble Valley and

Rossendale heats back in October. All seven finalists were given the task

of choosing the best location for a cyber cafe, out of a choice of two. Teams then had to write a business

plan, design a web page, produce posters, flyers and a radio jingle, culminating in a power point presentation to judges. At the end of the day, Ribblesdale’s

team of eight came out on top. All are members of the school’s Young

Enterprise Company “Ignite”. Pictured are the Year 11 pupils who

won the Lancashire Enterprise Chal lenge. (A211106/4)
