Outdoor meets resume
WITH the advent of better weather, Clitheroe Mountaineering Club has started it s programme of mid-week climbing evenings. Witches Quarry was the venue, followed
by Troy Quarry, Wilton and, most recently, Robin Proctor's (Norber Scar). Climbing takes place each 'Thursday, with
a climbing wall as a wet weather alternative. The only exception is the third Thursday
of the month, when the club has its indoor meet, so the climbing takes place on the Wednesday instead. The club's regulars climb at a wide range
of grades from “V.Diff/Severe” through to “E2/E3,”. Anyone who wants to get involved is made
very welcome, with contact details on the club’s website (
www.clitheroemc.org.uk). Tonight's indoor meet is a slide show on ski
touring in Norway. The venue is the Cricket Club, on Chatburn Road, with a 7-45 p.m. for 8 p.m. start. Once again new faces are always welcome to see the show or just talk about getting involved in climbing, walking, scrambling or mountaineering. Our picture shows one of the members
scaling a pitch at the club’s weekly climbing evening, (s)
