On the 11th June 2004, the Lancashire County Council confirmed the above Orders.


The effect of the Orders, as confirmed, is to divert or extinguish parts of Public Foothpaths Nos. 26 and 25, in the Parish of Downham and part of Public Footpath No. 11, in the Parish of Worston, Ribble Valley Borough:


a) i) the part of Public Footpath No. 26, in the Parish of Downham, Ribble Valley Borough, running from a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 27 and West Lane, Downham, Ribble Valley Borough (GR. 7820 4302), in a general south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 100 metres, to a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 25, Downham, Ribble Valley Bor­ ough, adjacent to Radbrook (GR. 7827 4297), will be stopped-up; and


a) ii) the part of Public Footpath No. 25, in the Parish of Downham, Ribble Valley Borough running from a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 26, Downham, Ribble Valley Borough, adjacent to Radbrook (GR. 7827 4297), in a general south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 40 metres, to a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 11, Worston, Ribble Valley Borough, at the Parish Boundary (GR. 7829 4293), will be stopped- up; and


a) iii) the part of Public Footpath No. 11, in the Parish of Worston, Ribble Valley Borough, running from a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 25, Downham, Rib­ ble Valley Borough, at the Parish Boundary (GR. 7829 4293), in a general south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 302 metres, (to GR. 7845 4270), will be stopped-up; and


b) a route be created mnning from a point on West Lane, in the Parish of Worston, Ribble Valley Borough, (GR. 7807 4291), in a general south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 434 metres, to a point on Pub­ lic Footpath No. 11, Worston, Ribble Valley Borough, (GR. 7845 4270); and


c) the part of Public Footpath No. 25, in the Parish of Downham, Ribble Valley Borough, from a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 27, Downham, Ribble Valley Borough, (GR. 7829 4302), in a general south­ westerly direction for a distance of approximately 62 metres, to a point at its junction with Public Footpath No. 26, Downham, Ribble Valley Borough, adjacent to Rad­ brook (GR. 7827 4297), will be extinguished,


as shown on the Order plans.


A copy of the Orders, as confirmed, and plans, have been deposited at the offices of the Ribble Valley Bor­ ough Council, Council Offices, Church Walk, Clitheroe, and at my offices, where they may be inspected, free of charge, during office hours. Copies of the Orders and plans may be purchased from my offices.


This creation of the route described at b) above comes into force on the 25th June, 2004; and the extinguish­ ment of the routes described at a) above will be when the created route is certified as fit for use; and the extin­ guishment of the route described at c) above comes into force on the 25th June, 2004, but if a person aggrieved by the Orders wants to question their validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amend­ ed, or on the ground that a requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within - six weeks from the 17th June, 2004, make an applica­ tion to the High Court.

(REVOCATION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 200*


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order under Section 1(1), 2(1), and (2), 3(2) and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to revoke the Lancashire County Council (Pimlico Bridge, Clitheroe) (Weight Restriction) Order 1968. It is proposed that the 10 tonnes weight restriction be revoked as a weight restriction of 7.5 tonnes has been introduced at this bridge and this gives greater protection to the structure. It is therefore considered that the 10 tonnes restriction is no longer necessary and may be revoked. It is also proposed the Order will revoke that part of The Lancashire County Council (Metrication Of Existing Weight Restrictions and Consolidation) Order 1990, insofar as it relates to Pimlico Railway Bridge, Clitheroe. A copy of the draft Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Ribble Valley Borough Council, Council Offices, Church Walk; Clitheroe, and at the offices of Lancashire County Council, Guild House, Cross Street, Preston.
