LIZ LOCHHEAD'S comedy, "Perfect Days", has many funny moments. She is particularly good at capturing the dialogue of her female characters, especially Barbs (Race Davies), the central char acter and her mother, Sadie (Janet Ilenfiey). Barbs is a celebrity hairdresser with a success
ful slot on a TV makeover show and a popular salon, with everything except a baby - and her
biological clock is ticking away. The play opens with a clover monologue from
Barbs to her friend, Alice (Joanna Bacon), about the problems of finding a suitable father, but her plans are complicated by her mother. The exchanges between Barbs and her mothei ai e
the best part of the play. Much of the humour is provided by barb s
crimper colleague, Brendan (Danny Edwards), who is a rather stereotypical gay male. The other male characters are a bit sketchily
