Phil Parker opened the scor ing and a magnificent touchline conversion from scrum-half Malcolm Heanan quickly established

a seven-point lead. Heanan, himself, was

next to cross the line and before half-time full-back Andrew Moorby had out stripped the defence to add two further converted tries. In the second half,

Andrew Burrill bagged a brace of tries while veteran Mick Stott got in on the act. The Presidents hit back,

however, through Martin Virg-Hodges and Stuart

Greatorex but it was Clitheroe who had the last laugh as man of the match Moorby grabbed the final try of the afternoon and his

hat-trick. The club also held its sea

son’s awards ceremony after the match. Andrew Rigby was voted the Player of the year while James Dickenson picked up the Young Player of the Year. Dave Slinger was named Second Team

i Player of the Year while i Dave Tattersall received the ! Clubman of the Year award.
