far post to make it 3-0 before Brad shaw out-paced the Rock defence to score his second and Chatburn’s fourth.

Missed chances At half-time 4-0 looks like a good

scoreline, but chances were missed by Chatburn and the score should have been much higher. With the wind a t their backs in

the second half C ha tb u rn were never in danger of losing the game, and their back-four were never over stretched. Bradshaw gave several Rock

defenders a lesson in the a rt of the nutmeg, before crashing home a fine right foot effort to make it 5-0 soon after the break and complete his hat-trick. Clarkson scored the sixth before substitute Booth netted the seventh

to complete the scoring. The three points keep Chatbum in the top two of the title race.

Extra-time looked on the cards before

a David Mercer free-kick was converted by Barnes to put Whalley into the next

round. Michael Thompson was voted Whal-

ley’s man-of-the-match. The Under U s played some excellent

football and should have taken the points against Huncoat. But they had to settle for a 0-0 draw despite a good performance from Jon

Brooks. The Under 10 Tigers were beaten 4-1

by top-of-the-table Langho. At 3-0 down at half-time, Whalley

came back in the second half a got a goal through Joe Roberts. Aaron Catchpole was named man-of-the-match. The Arrows Under 10s were beaten 1-

saves. The Under 12s took to the field

against Blackburn Boys with an under strength side and performed well despite

losing 7-2. Jason Donahoe and Ryan Rigby got

the goals and there were gallant defen sive performances from Chris Brewer, Scott Stanworth and Ben Dearden all played well. Joel Beckett was named man-of-the-match. The Under 13s also had to field an

under-strength side when they took on West End and lost 4-2. They put up a spirited team perfor

mance with goals from Jamie Enfer and Terry Fothergill. Robert Dew was named man-of-the-match. The Under 15s competed well in their

visit to Rossendale Valley but were 2-0 down by half-time and finished up losing 6- 0. Daniel Johnson was Whalley’s man- of-the-match.
