THE libble Valley's biggest commmity support group, the TrinitjjCentre, has mapped out a new, ar-reaching strategy fol lowing jts evolution to a limited

compaiy with charitable status. Sincethe granting of its new sta

Richard Atkinson is the newly- appointed chairman of the board of Trinity Trustees. He believes the new status has been a natural progression, reflecting Trinity's growing input into the local community since it was orig inally founded, in 1963, as the Trini ty Youth Club. a result of its charitable status. He added: "Some people in the past

Off to Disneyland - but it’s in the line of duty

THREE local students are making a trip with a

difference to Disneyland Paris. Alan Cocks and Paul Robinson, of Clitheroe, and

Jon Crotty, of Barrow, may get a chance to sample the rides - but the trip is really for an in-depth study of

systems which run the complex. The trio are studying computing and information tech nology at Accrington and Rossendale College and will be

with 19 others on the trip. They will be investigating the use of information tech

nology at Disneyland, including its application to data handling, control systems, graphics, special effects and

animation. Quick work will be required to complete four assign

ments in a short time during the first week of next month. Ramblers see first lambs

look after girls and leaders from abroad, who will then travel North to stay with them before returning home. Altogether there will be 3,000 people at the camp, and there will be vis its to tourist and other

venues. Acting as a hostess will

be no problem for Mrs Bryan, for she is a director and the general manager of the Mytton Fold Hotel complex. But originally she was a farmer's daughter and can look back to earli er years of milking cows — rural lore which may be of interest to the foreign visi tors.

THE first Sunday walk of 1999 for Clitheroe Ramblers was along local footpaths and bridle

ways. From Waterloo car park in Clitheroe, they made

their way to Brungerley Park and then followed the

River Ribble for three miles to Foxley Bank. After a coffee break, during which a stoat was seen, the group left the river bank path to climb past Hey and then on to Steelands and Pinewood. where a lunch break was

taken in bright sunshine. The ramblers continued along the forest track for half-a-
