Brookside pupils dress as favourite characters


A CLITHEROE primary school became "Bookside" this I week, as the children celebrated World Book Week. Pupils at Brookside County Primary School dressed up


as their favourite characters from novels, plays and comics. Just some of the dazzling apparels mimicked an


iron man, flower fairies and Dennis the Menace. Not to be outdone, the teachers dressed up as the 101

was an event to celebrate books and to encourage more reading and to encourage books to be more freely avail­ able. The children had a wonderful time."

Valley over the May Bank Holiday weekend m the first rod licence checking blitz of the year. The checks are part of


the agency's ongoing cam­ paign against licence eva­


sion.More than 300 of the agency's fisheries staff will be taking part in the week­ end blitz, which will be fol­ lowed by a week of checks from June 16th to 22nd, with the usual enforcement activity at other times.
