NEARLY two decades ago, Craig Hambling set up his building and

joinery business in Accrington. Initially, his work centred around

commercial refurbishment, and it was n o t long before th e business had established an excellent reputation. A Ribble Valley family man, Craig

sought to combine creativity and quali ty craftsmanship. Sure enough, the business went from s trength to strength. I t has been the company’s impressive record as a fast, cost effec tive and professional outfit, offering a complete contracting service, which has won it extensive contracts with local authorities, health care trusts, educa tion bodies, housing associations, busi nesses and large public companies. Hamblings' recent contracts have

included the building work at Black burn Royal Infirmary for the new MRI scanner, Heysham Power Station Visi tor Centre, Viking Direct's new call cen tre in Manchester and refurbishments on Liverpool's famed Liver Building. At present the company is building the new

natural progression for Craig, himself an experienced craftsman, to expand the business into design for the home. He recognised that with stylish interior design becoming increasingly popular, he needed to go further afield to source a range of genuinely unique products. With a talent for sifting quality orig

inal designs and the prowess of his Accrington-based workshops, his newly- opened Billington showroom offers refreshingly different products from all over the world, as well as hand-crafted bespoke furniture and a selection of ■highly-accomplished fitting services. Craig's expertise in his field, his

down-to-earth and approachable man ner offers a clue to the success story behind Hamblings.

The same applies to the m any fitting services provided by the company to the highest standards. On display in the spacious dimen

sions of the new outlet is some of the beautiful hand-made furniture manu factured by the company's own crafts man. As with all the shop’s products,

the idea is to show a sample of the designs to give a flavour of what is available. Flexibility is a by-word for Craig and he is more than happy to build furniture to the most detailed specifications and order specific designs from a bank of brochures. Flooring is another Hamblings' spe

experience. The aesthetically enticing interior reflects Craig's doctrine of wanting to help inspire budding interior designers' creative flair. Despite the vast range of table and floor lamps, Amencan- style wooden shutters, clocks and glass effects on display, the centre, itself in a picturesque location, remains refreshingly uncluttered. Craig has pur posefully set the premises out to create a breezy ambience to help the creative consciousness

So, if you want to create a genuinely original feel and atmosphere within your home, or you want to buy a friend or a relative that special present for the home or if you just fancy a browse around to give yourself a few ideas, Hamblings is sure to delight and impress you. Being just a pleasant stroll away from pic turesque Whalley, a visit to Hamblings will make the basis for an enjoyable day out. So why not let your creative imagination run riot and, with Ham blings' help, turn your home into a festival of

colour, light and space?
