year-old George met his bride-to-be, Betty, then five, took place during George's annual holi­ day to Bolton-by-Bow- land from his home near York. The pair remained friends throughout their child­ hood years and began courting following the


end of World War Two. Mr Clark, who will be 76

A "GREAT deal" of extra work will fall on the local council fol­ lowing the new crime

Campaign to get blood flowing!


OVER the next two days a major campaign starts in Clitheroe to recruit new and lapsed blood donors from Clitheroe and the surrounding areas. The National Blood Ser­


vice's publicity vehicle will be situated on the Market Street car park up to and including Saturday, where people will be able to enrol as donors anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Staff and volunteers will also be on hand around the town at the same time in order to sign people up for their services.
