Hicks raises the roof for and health
THE Hicks Health and Rackets Club is the
- new venue for squash and fitness enthusiasts in Clitheroe.
A stylish and innova
tive re co n s tru ctio n , including raising the roof level, has transformed the former Clitheroe Squash Club in Chat- burn Road. I t opened to members on Saturday. Three refurbished squash courts, two with glass backs and seated view ing, together with.a spa cious gym and the latest cardio-vascular and resistance equipment are the centrepieces of a spectacular sport and fit ness complex. New changing facili
ties, sauna, steam room and sun bed area, com plement a tre a tm e n t room with Swedish body massage, aromatherapy and remedial therapy for sports injury. Qualified and train ed gym s ta f f will suppor t members' quest for fitness along side regular aerobic, cir cuit and relaxation class es.
Comfortable and styl ish facilities for players
and spe cta tors are the result of the successful design and build pro-, gramme of new owners, Amanda Walmsley and Susan Seddon, who com mented: "Raising the roof provided the oppor tu n i ty to redesign the interior to accommodate the new co u r ts and install state-of -the-ar t fitness equipment in lux urious and safe surround ings. Existing and new members will find every thing they need to enjoy their squash, keep fit and relax with friends in a new lounge bar." The club squash coach
and professional, Nigel Willis, will provide Sun day club night coaching
' for all members together with individual and junior tuition during the
