Rally for the Valley now for route two
THIS is the second of the routes for the massive May Day Rally to
Save tile Valley. The rally is being held
to semi the message to the Local Government Review in no uncertain terms that Valley folk do not want the area to be carved up in the forthcoming shake-up of local government.
Setting off from Whal-
lev car park at 10-15 a.m., walkers will converge on Clitheroe Castle field at approximately 3-110 p.m.

The route, which has
been devised by Clitheroe Ramblers' member Mrs Pat Parrott, will include several pick-up points, so that supporters do not have to walk the full route, ami will he fully marshalled along the'wav.

Martin James pointed out that the event promised to be a great day out for all the family, including acti vities on the Castle field, refreshments and trans port home.

wear and carry water proofs. They should bring a packed lunch, including drinks, and coaches will return walkers to their starting points at the end of the rally."

Spring Wood car park for Read Park, via l ’ortfield and Read Old bridge.
11- 30 a.m. — Head for
Sabden, via Huntroydc. 12- 30 p.m. — Leave
Sabden. having lunched, for the Nick o' Pendle, via Churn Clough.
1-15 p.m. — Leave Nick
o' Pendle for Pendleton, via Wymondhouses. 2 p.m. — Leave Pendle
ton for an urban route to Clitheroe.
3-30 p.m. ■ — Arrive
Clitheroe Castle field. Next week, the Rally to
Save the Valley routes from Rihchester and Dun- sup Bridge will he printed.
