Lucas's Cleaner Motoring Campaign is designed to show visitors how they can save money and help the e n v iro nm en t by h av in g th e i r c a r s ru n n in g efficiently,.

IN an attempt to get motorists to “green up their act”, Lucas will be promoting more environmentally friendly motoring at this year’s motor show.

In addition, there is a free competition in which Lucas will plant 250 trees on behalf o f -10 winners, who will also receive a free “cleaner motoring service" at their nearest specialist service centre.

The trees will be planted by the British Trust for Con servation Volunteers in the locality of each of the competition's winners.

Lucas believes the symbol of the tree and its place in the environment will help emphasise the part motorists can play.

ROVER is all set to take the wraps off the new MG RVS, a 3.9-litre reincar nation of the classic MGB roadster.

The most exclusive, powerful and luxu rious production MG ever made, the RVS has been developed to mark Lhe 30th anniversary of the MGB — one of Britain’s best-loved sports cars.

According to Rover, it is a modern day evolution of the “B”, combining tra ditional British sports car appeal with enhanced performance and refinement.

While sustaining the distinctive MGB look, the RVS has been extensively restyled, giving a more substantial

and robust appearance.

It incorporates a 3.9-litre VS engine, taking it to a top speed of 135 mph and giving a 0-00 time of 5.9 seconds.

Although based on the originals, front and re a r suspens ions have been u p ra ted to cope with th e e x tra power, and a catalytic converter and live-speed gearbox are additional modern revisions.

The RVS is available in a choice of six standard body colours plus four new colours developed specially for the MG.

And, at £2(i,500, it is perhaps just as well the RVS comes with Rover’s own car security system fitted as
