Cinema

A MUST for all nature lovers is the film “Spirit of the wild;” showing at Clitheroe’s Civic Hall next week. Starring Dan Hag gerty, of “Grizzly Adams” fame, it tells of one man’s remarkable struggle to live in harmony with

nature.

BRUISES, bumps and being thrown about are things which do not appeal to some people, but if the thought of learning to defend your self properly takes your fancy, why not try the' new Goshin Martial Arts tra in in g cour se at Clitheroe’s Roefield Barn? The courses, which

began on Monday night, 9 — 10-30 p.m., is run by blackbelt Alex Rickwood, of Burnley. The lessons include tui

tion in Kempo karate and Ju-Jitsu and costs 90p per training session. The first night was

quite well attended, as well as 10 enthusiasts who turned up _ already with some experience, four novices also began to learn. For further informa

tion, anybody interested should contact Alex Rick wood (B u rn ley 59734). j

He added that a suggestion made by the council for toilets for the disabled had been taken up by the International Year of Disabled People Committee and now there were two, one based in Clitheroe and the other in Longridge. There had been an in

different response by member organisations to raise funds at the Country Fair. Mr Leach said the coun

cil had also been success ful in assisting Longridge bowlers to gain indoor facilities at the Sports Centre and helped clubs and individuals to obtain grant aid. The football coaching
