Maersk Training Strengthens Malaysian Presence With New Kuala Lumpur
Maersk Training is strengthening its footprint in Malaysia with the opening of a new training site in Kuala Lumpur through Velesto Energy Academy, Powered by Maersk Training. The facility will support local and regional operators, drilling contractors, and service companies with advanced simulation-based and accredited training.
The site features state-of-the-art learning spaces and classrooms, an immersive drilling simulator (DS-6000), and a full Major Emergency Management (MEM) suite. These installations will give crews access to realistic, high- pressure environments that mirror operational conditions, helping organisations build stronger capability, safety performance, and decision- making.
Building on these capabilities, the partnership will offer customised simulator-based training to reinforce drill crew capability, enhancing safety, efficiency and overall operational performance.
Fugro To Support Greater Sunrise And Bayu Undan Project
The survey programme will support the planning and development of critical offshore energy infrastructure associated with the Greater Sunrise and Bayu Undan developments, two strategically important projects that underpin Timor-Leste’s future energy ambitions.
Under the contract, Fugro will undertake an extensive offshore site characterisation programme, including geophysical, seismic and autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) surveys across a challenging offshore environment.
The survey area includes deepwater areas with water depths exceeding 3,000 metres.
The programme will provide comprehensive seabed intelligence and geotehnical insights to support pipeline routing, engineering design, geohazard assessment, and the safe execution of offshore operations.
Fugro will integrate advanced AUV technology with real-time support from its Remote Operations Centres to enhance operational efficiency, data quality and project oversight.
Survey data will be processed and quality-controlled through Fugro’s regional data centres in Kuala Lumpur and Perth.
