SEALING, BOLTING AND GASKET SOLUTIONS Torque Tension Group Opens New Great

Yarmouth Base A Newcastle-based firm has opened a new site in Great Yarmouth as part of its expansion into the east of England.

Torque Tension Group said the seaside town is “perfectly placed” to help it deliver equipment, maintenance and servicing to the onshore and offshore industries.

The company specialises in controlled bolting, which is the use of tools to precisely tighten or loosen nuts and bolts to ensure that joints do not break under tension.

The new facility on Charles Street combines office space and warehousing, with shelves filled with controlled bolting, equipment and portable machining for hire and sale.

The firm has also invested in a workshop and state-of- the-art equipment to test, maintain, repair and service customer equipment.

Danny Peachey, Key Account Manager, is managing the facility and plans to build a team, which includes taking on an apprentice.

“Great Yarmouth is perfectly placed for onshore and offshore projects,” he said.

“Waiting for equipment costs our clients money, so a speedy turnaround is crucial. We can mobilise quickly - 24/7, 365 days a year - because the equipment is here and all the maintenance can be carried out here on site, so turnaround times are quick.

“We offer tailored solutions and the latest in torque and tensioning equipment to customers in offshore energy - oil and gas, wind and renewables - construction, manufacturing, rail, aeronautical, food manufacturing, defence and any project where there is a nut and bolt that needs controlled bolting equipment, torque wrenches and pumps.”

Torque Tension Group also has plans to expand in Aberdeen, Scotland’s energy capital.

The firm was set up two years ago by Stephen Jones. Its leadership team of bolting experts have a combined more than 150 years of industry experience.
