Enquiries Up By A Third As Subsea And Mechanical Engineering Specialist Eyes

International Growth The Aberdeen office of a subsea and mechanical engineering specialist has revealed a significant uptick in enquiries as it eyes international growth in key target markets.

Imenco Subsea & Mechanical Engineering, UK division (part of Imenco AS) is reporting a near 50% increase in the value of work quoted during the first half of 2025 compared with the same period last year with Brazil, Guyana and the Gulf of Mexico proving to be particularly busy.

The company has now set its sights on increasing its foothold in Namibia and Angola as well as pressing on with plans to establish a presence in the growing Middle East market.

The news follows recent expansion in the company’s service offering to include a range of products encompassing subsea engineering, intervention, and system design solutions. Aſter 15 years operating in the UK, the move was seen as instrumental in correctly positioning the company for future expansion and was timed to coincide with its 45th anniversary.

A steady increase in Aberdeen- based mechanical department staff throughout the past 12 months has seen the team grow to four with further job creation anticipated as the company continues to adapt tried and tested solutions for use in the decommissioning and renewables market.

With offices in Houston, Brazil and Norway Imenco Subsea & Mechanical Engineering has now set its sights on growing market share from its existing footprint and establishing a presence in the Middle East with the Aberdeen team set to play a central role in serving a growing number of customers in these key emerging markets. They will be boosted by

the additional colleagues who are likely to join the team in the coming months.

Commenting on the company’s ambitions, UK Manager Subsea Mechanical Engineering Michael Noble said: “Throughout our 15 years in the UK, we have pivoted to ensure we keep our products and services exactly aligned with customer needs. It is this relationship-based expertise which will stand us in good stead as we seek to grow by sector and geography, creating a sustainable and viable future for our company within an evolving marketplace.”
