The Black Swan, Henley-in-Arden
A REFINED AND MEMORABLE DINING EXPERIENCE
90
My husband AJ and I recently enjoyed a truly delightful evening at The Black Swan in Henley-in-Arden, a restaurant that effortlessly combines exquisite food, beautiful interiors and exceptional service to create an experience that lingers long after the final course.
From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the elegance of the surroundings. The interiors are simply stunning, thoughtfully designed, warm and welcoming, with a refined yet relaxed atmosphere that immediately puts diners at ease.
There is a sense of understated luxury throughout, making it the perfect setting for both special occasions and leisurely evenings spent enjoying good food and great company.
Our experience was elevated further by the outstanding service. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and, most notably, extremely knowledgeable. Each dish was explained with confidence and genuine enthusiasm, and their recommendations were clearly driven by a passion for the menu rather than obligation. It is refreshing to encounter a team that is both professional and personable, striking the ideal balance between polished service and friendly hospitality.
To begin our meal, we sampled the Country Pâté, which was beautifully presented and rich in flavour, offering a perfectly balanced start to the evening.
Alongside this, the Truffle Mushroom and Cep Arancini were quite simply irresistible. Crisp and golden on the outside, with a wonderfully creamy centre, the earthy depth of the truffle and cep mushrooms made each bite utterly mouth-watering.
For our main courses, AJ and I chose the Supreme of Chicken and the Duck Breast, allowing us to experience the breadth of the kitchen’s skill. The chicken was succulent and tender, cooked with precision and full of flavour, while the duck breast was outstanding, rich, perfectly cooked and finished with a beautifully crisp skin. Both dishes demonstrated a confident, refined approach to classic cooking.
