HEREFORD CATHEDRAL SCHOOL WINS NATIONAL CHOIR AWARD
Hereford Cathedral Junior School choir has been named one of the best in the UK after winning a prestigious award at the Barnardo’s National Choir Competition this week.
The choir received the Judges’ Distinction award at the Grand Final, held at Symphony Hall in Birmingham. Now in its 18th year, the competition attracted more than 80 entries from schools and youth choirs across the country and was hosted by broadcaster Anila Dhami.
The Judges’ Distinction award recognises a choir that delivers an outstanding performance, strong technical ability and a powerful connection with the audience. HCJS Choir received the honour for their lively performance of Cockroaches!
The win follows the choir’s success in last year’s competition, when they won the Traditional category.
