As Remember A Charity Week returns this September, Herefordshire Community Foundation is inviting people who love this county with the means to give significantly to consider a legacy that stays in Herefordshire, for Herefordshire, for generations to come.

Herefordshire Community Foundation connects the generosity of people who love this county with the communities that need it most, from Hereford city to the most isolated village in the Golden Valley. Every pound raised in Herefordshire is directed back into Herefordshire, with no national overheads. Just local knowledge, applied with rigour, on behalf of the people who give. It is the residual gift, or a fund set up in someone's name, that can genuinely change what is possible for a place like this over the long term.

Every will tells a story about what mattered to someone. This September, Remember A Charity Week (7–13 September) puts gifts in wills back into the national conversation.


According to The Legacy Giving Report (Smee & Ford and Legacy Futures), UK legacy income reached a record £4.5 billion in 2024 - up 9% on 2023. Residual gifts, where someone leaves a share of their estate rather than a fixed sum, now average £65,000. For Herefordshire Community Foundation, the question this raises is a local one: how much of that generosity actually stays here?
