NEIL JONES CREATES STUNNING NEW SHOW EXCLUSIVELY FOR LICHFIELD FESTIVAL

Five years ago, Strictly Come Dancing star and World Champion dancer Neil Jones created a spectacular dance show, especially for Lichfield Festival, and it was a huge success. We talk to Neil ahead of his brand new show Gingerland, another Lichfield Festival exclusive, which plays for two nights in the city’s Cathedral this July.


With stunning choreography, a cast of world-class dancers, original music, glamorous costumes and set, Gingerland is a family-friendly, comic tale.


Neil – a famous red-head himself – explains, “It’s a world where ‘Gingers’ are discriminated against. There’s a whole storyline that helps us understand the myths and history around being ginger, and in the end hopefully people can see that we should be accepted for who we are. During the show, I’m the narrator and I have a super-power – I’m in control of time. And there are characters including a General who’s against ‘Gingers’, and the Ginger Resistance fighting against him.”
