This Page and Following Page, above, one painting, Autumn Road Game, oil on canvas, 30” x 60”
The way I see and feel about my paintings is usually in a state of flux. My style seems to have gone through many changes over the years. At times my work being very loose and expressionistic. At other times I tighten up my brushwork to suit the size and subject matter at hand. The tools that I use change from piece to piece as well. At times using a palette knife
and kitchen spatulas to lay down areas of colour. Gloved fingers are also a great tool to move around paint.
I use anything that works to the paintings advantage. One of my favourite ways of capturing images is by doing small watercolour sketches.
