Penetrating success with piercing ammunition

MEN Metallwerk creates premium ammunition using armour piercing rounds, which meet military and law enforcement requirements and deliver high-quality and consistent products.

P

recision, reliability and the perfect interplay with the weapon are the most important facts for high-quality ammunition. For almost 65 years, MEN has developed, produced and delivered small calibre ammunition to these standards. Almost 300 employees are working daily on maintaining the high quality of each individual product and creating individual solutions for customers while acting responsibly towards the environment. In order to meet the military and law enforcement specified requirements of a high penetration capacity, a lot of technical development work was required, accompanied by numerous

practical tests to meet the self-imposed high demands that had been set. To achieve the highest penetration possible against hard targets and protective vests, a tungsten carbide core was used, which, due to its hardness, delivers the best basic prerequisites for this special task. The construction of the armour piercing rounds is similar to FMJ (Full-Metal Jacket) projectiles. The special tungsten core, is centred with a support in the jacket, and the specific surface coating of the bullet protects the barrel during the passing through.

The performance values of the MEN hard core series are not only convincing

on paper, but they are especially impressive when put into practice. This is already identifiable with the smallest calibre 9mm x 19, as well as the other calibres 5.56 mm x 45, 7.62 mm x 51, 7.62 mm x 67 and 12.7 mm x 99. An additional advantage of MEN armour piercing rounds is the almost identical point of impact to conventional full jacket ammunition. To ensure that these high-quality demands will always be fulfilled – and in order to meet demand – MEN Metallwerk conducts 100 % quality control checks on all its products. ●
