THE LATEST addition to wining and dining at the luxury Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort, the Bolla Bar Mykonos, aims to capture the island’s relationship with sea and sky. Tis is a bar designed for romantic evenings as the sun dips behind the sea and the sky transforms from azure blue to glowing red and then the black of night, in an area known for its sunsets.
Designed by MKV Design, Bolla Bar draws guests in with seductive reveals. Te bar is located next to the airy lobby, which is faced to the front with semi-open screens that offer glimpses of the interior. Te entrance to the bar – formed from an arched opening reminiscent of traditional Mykonian architecture – serves as a frame for the bold blue of the bar beyond. Stepping through, guests turn to see the indoor lounge and then an outdoor terrace that seems to touch the sea.

Interiors combine curvaceous seating, crafted drinks tables and a Greek Dionysos Marble and mirrored bar that reflects the furnishings of the space by day and the flickering candles on the tables by night. Te back bar is simple, designed and lit to display the selection of spirits to full effect. A bespoke lighting installation by Lasvit presides over the lounge and transforms glass into showpiece
lighting. It is composed of pale, amber and clear-toned balls in a crackled glass finish.
