depending on its position, produces varying lighting effects and shadows.


A custom-made Lederam


composition of numerous gold-coloured discs of different diameters creates a separate wall feature. The effect of their soft, warm glow is enhanced by their use against gold-toned optical wallpaper with a pattern of circles.


A series of Jackie O single


pendants are suspended over the long industrial counter in the cocktail bar area. A twist of nickel-plated copper holds small removable glass lenses


hung on extremely thin cables. Covered in dark blue fabric, the cables are Catellani’s attempt to achieve ‘absolute zero’, so that they virtually disappear and the light sources appears to float in mid-air.


Three different floor lamps were also used either as features or to create a particular lighting effect. The PostKrisi F 100, vaguely reminiscent of the recently hatched egg of an alien life form, sits in a corner, its hand-painted fibreglass diffuser custom painted in RAL fawn brown. A Wa Wa F with brass base and structure, copper rods and


glass lenses paints circles of light on the wall. A Light Stick F, a lamp made of a thin, satin-gold finished metal rod and about as minimal as it gets, focuses attention on the textures of bare brick.


Finally, Giulietta BE T wireless table lamps sit on the bar counter and at other different points around the restaurant. Here in a vintage brass finish, they feature a thin rod on a circular base while above it a circular disc, concealing the light source, surrounds the rod, apparently with no support.
