WITH THE OLYMPICS in full flood by the time you read this, Paris will be the world stage for the new architectural buildings that promote the games and showcase the very best designs in sports stadia. We have a feature in the next issue comparing the London
Olympics with our cousins in France and asking who produced the best designs. But for now enjoy the show. Talking of shows, the FX Awards is busy with its
monumental, theatrical stage sets and lighting schemes to give you pure magic when you receive your award on 27 November! Entries are open online and you can also see the magnificent judging panel on our FX Awards website. We have 30 judges as a new panel to give you the best chance of winning this year, so get your entries in this month and wow the judges with your projects across hospitals, nightclubs, graphics and offices. Closing date is Friday 26 July. We’d love to celebrate your success! More shows are to be seen in the refurbished La Scala
opera house in Milan, which has had a bumpy ride over the past few years but is reaping the benefits of appointing top-class architects, while the feature on I.M. Pei is to coincide with a different sort of show in Hong Kong that celebrates his global successes in the 20th and 21st century, including the Grand Louvre in Paris, Te National Gallery of Art East Building in Washington, the Bank Of China Tower in Hong Kong and the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. Remember, too, that digital subscriptions are free to all
our readers around the world at
