Veneers possibilities
Veneers and hardwood specialist Danzer has reported an increase in annual revenue of 4.5% in 2025 to €169m. Danzer said 2025 was a year marked by challenges, but it “successfully defended and strengthened its market position”. It maintained a clear strategic focus on technical veneers, complementing the design and functional possibilities of natural wood. “Persistent geopolitical uncertainties, a weak construction sector in Europe, and accelerated industry consolidation created challenging operating conditions,” the company said. “The situation was
compounded by US tariffs, which weighed on international trade and triggered additional market turbulence. Against this
backdrop, Danzer’s revenue growth of clearly more than four per cent underscores the resilience of its business model.” Danzer CEO Hans-Joachim
Danzer said alongside decorative veneers and parquet lamellas, Danzer is consciously driving the development of technical veneers: by producing new veneer structures and combining them with materials such as aluminium, copper, and brass. “This approach opens up entirely new design possibilities for designers and processors, while assuring consistent quality and availability,” he said. “It also enables Danzer to position itself as an innovation leader at the intersection of nature and technology,” MrDanzer added
New Dieffenbacher PB line starts up at Ghamoud, Algeria
Algeria’s first continuous particleboard plant has produced its first board on a new Dieffenbacher line. Algerian wood-based panel manufacturer Ghamoud celebrated the first board on January 18 in El Eulma in the province of Sétif.
The plant is equipped with a 13m-long CPS+ continuous press designed to produce 100,000m³ of particleboard per year.
Dieffenbacher, together with its Chinese subsidiary Shanghai Wood-based Panel Machinery (SWPM), developed a plant concept tailored for Ghamoud. It also supplied everything from flaking, through the dryer, the gluing system and forming station, to the raw board handling system
and sanding line.
Ghamoud’s particleboard plant is one of four continuous wood-based panel plants delivered by Dieffenbacher to North Africa in recent years. In May 2022, Panneaux d’Algerie’s MDF plant in El Tarf, Algeria, went into operation. In June 2025, Nile Wood produced the first board on its complete Dieffenbacher MDF line in Sadat City, Egypt. Also in Egypt, the world’s first line for producing MDF from date palm fronds for the National Service Projects Organization will soon go into operation. Meanwhile, flaxboard producer De Sutter Frères has installed a new Dieffenbacher EVOsifter P at its Biville-la- Rivière facility in France.
