CRANES FOR CRANES Bennetts Tower Cranes is supporting a conservation campaign to bolster the breeding population of cranes, the UK's largest bird, by sponsoring a habitat restoration project at a Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) centre in Gloucestershire. Cranes for Cranes is the name coined by Bennetts to represent their support. The project aims at supporting the recently reintroduced population of Eurasian cranes, a bird that until around ten years ago, had been extinct in the UK for 400 years.

NEW CAB oN GRovE ATS

Manitowoc is adding its new driver’s cab to a number of four- and five-axle Grove all terrain cranes with capacity up to 150t. The new generation cab was

launched last December, and was initially introduced to the three-axle all terrains GMK3050-3, GMK3060-2 and GMK3060L-1. It is now available on the GMK4090-1, GMK4100L-2, GMK5150- 1 and GMK5150L-1 models. Manitowoc said the new carrier meets the latest crash-test requirements in Europe and is ECE R29-3 approved. “Crane operators benefit from increased space within the cab, while the overall compact dimensions of the all-terrain cranes remain unchanged." Within a 2.55m width, there are plenty of features. Compartments between the seats, in the dashboard, and integrated into the vehicle’s doors offer ample storage space for items and documents. More storage space is available between the driver and

the passenger seats. An ergonomic driver's seat with air suspension, armrests and seat heating comes as standard. The move between the driver and passenger side is facilitated by the removal of the central console. The Crane Control System has been integrated into the cab, while devices can be charged using the USB ports.
