HydRO: Smarter Water Use
In 2022, Nedlin opened a new high-tech healthcare laundry in Elsloo. Inside, we installed our HydRO system to treat and reuse water for both the healthcare laundry and the nearby hospitality site.
Stef de Win, Managing Director Nedlin states: ‘Energy and raw materials are becoming scarce. Water is a key part of that. HydRO purifies the water from both laundries.
Thanks to HydRO, the healthcare laundry now consumes zero litres of fresh water per kilogram of textile, and all residual heat is reused to the maximum extent possible.’
Björn Frijns, Director Technical Affairs Nedlin, adds: ‘We also recover the heat from the water and reuse it in the wash process. That means real savings on heating and gas.’

Cool Chemistry: Clean Results at Lower Temperatures
From the outset, the new facility was designed to minimise its environmental impact, including effective washing at lower temperatures.
Stef de Win: ‘One of our key goals was to wash at lower temperatures without compromising on hygiene.
