SPOTLIGHT ON THE UK
As Kerslake adds, technology is moving forward and the company sees some positive changes. “Customers are often slow to get on board fully with the new equipment. They see the easy wins in saving water and energy with the initial systems we can introduce such as Christeyns Cool Chemistry and efficient dosing equipment. There is, however, a reluctance to invest further in bigger systems such as Hydro and EPIC. It is a cost versus benefits scenario, and it means committing funds for future gain. Larger laundries are more able to make these commitments but smaller facilities are slow to take up the opportunities.” In the short-term, Christeyns plans to install its EPIC system in 10 facilities by the end of 2025, which means greatly reduced chemical and water use and reduced carbon footprint. As Kerslake believes this is cutting-edge technology and innovation and with this type of progression, the industry can make huge steps towards a more sustainable future. That will provide an additional opportunities for growth. Thomas Zeck, commercial director of Kreussler Textile Care spoke about the specifics and complexity of doing business for the company in Great Britain. Still, despite this the company has achieved some good results in the local market since the beginning of the current year. Zeck comments: “A particularly positive outcome in the first half of 2025 is that new market trends have proven to be genuine growth drivers. After the end of pandemic-related restrictions, a sustained trend towards ‘staycations’ and holidays within the country has emerged, which is still growing in the UK. Especially small

In general, according to Kreussler and other market operators, the UK textile care market offers a wealth of promising opportunities, driven by both structural factors and emerging trends. According to analysts, the country’s high density of hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and care facilities ensures a continuous and robust demand for professional textile care and laundry services. Particularly the hospitality sector stands out as a cornerstone of the market, with a vast network of hotels and guest accommodations requiring reliable and hygienic textile care solutions on a consistent basis.
