Sennebogen, stand 2D80 Sennebogen manufactures a full line of material handlers and port cranes, covering applications ranging from bulk and general cargo handling to trans-shipment solutions on pontoons or ships. Its machines are individually configurable and energy-efficient thanks to the company’s Green Hybrid system. It recently announced a new series of five-shell orange peel grabs. The MG4.1 range features four models with capacities ranging from 600 to 1,200 litres and is designed specifically for scrap handling. Various shell configurations are available depending on the materials it needs to handle, from semi-open to fully closed.

Developed and built in Straubing, Germany, the company’s headquarters, the grab features a centre crossbeam of high-strength cast steel. In addition, the grab shells are manufactured from robust Hardox steel and the pivot points are generously dimensioned, featuring high-strength bolts and bushings. The welded grab tips are also made of high-strength forged steel for high wear resistance, ensuring they last longer than average. A wear indicator also clearly shows when the tips need to be replaced. The design features space at the shell pivot point for small materials to fall through, preventing

unwanted accumulation of material on the grab.
