ABOUT CARL STAHL
Carl Stahl is part of the globally respected Carl Stahl Group, a company whose roots date back to 1880 in Süssen, Germany. Founded by Carl Stahl as a small rope-making business, the company quickly built a reputation for precision engineering, uncompromising quality and technical expertise. Over more than 140 years, that foundation has evolved into an international group specialising in lifting technology, wire rope solutions, architectural systems and safety engineering. From its early beginnings in steel wire rope production, Carl Stahl grew alongside the industrial expansion of Europe, continually investing in innovation, manufacturing excellence and rigorous safety standards. This heritage of engineering strength remains at the core of everything the company does today. In the UK, the brand took a significant step forward with the formation of Carl Stahl Evita, bringing German engineering heritage together with British industry expertise. Carl Stahl Evita established itself as a trusted provider of lifting equipment, height safety systems, crane services and inspection solutions across a wide range of sectors including construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, offshore and renewables. By combining local responsiveness with global backing, the UK operation has continued to expand its capabilities and service offering. Today, Carl Stahl in the UK operates through specialist divisions that reflect the
breadth of its expertise: ● Lifting equipment and engineered assemblies: Including Grade 10 chain slings, wire rope slings, lifting beams and bespoke solutions.
● Crane services and maintenance: Inspection, servicing, installation and compliance support.
● Height safety and fall protection: Engineered systems designed to protect people working at height.
● Architectural cable and mesh systems: Stainless steel cable, balustrade systems and green façade solutions for structural and aesthetic applications.
Most recently, the launch of Carl Stahl Fabrication marks an exciting new chapter for the business. Created to focus exclusively on bespoke lifting equipment, Carl Stahl Fabrication delivers fully tailored, engineered-to-order solutions designed to solve complex lifting challenges. This dedicated division strengthens the company’s position as a complete solutions provider, offering customers custom-designed assemblies manufactured to the highest safety and quality standards. Across every division, Carl Stahl remains driven by engineering excellence, innovation and long-term partnerships. From its 19th-century rope-making origins to its modern, multi-division UK operation, the company continues to set benchmarks in safety, reliability and technical performance – lifting, securing and transforming projects across the globe.
multiple suppliers, they want a single trusted partner who can support them across engineering, equipment supply, inspections, repairs, and training. This shift aligns closely with our long term strategy. There is continued growth in demand for bespoke engineered solutions, as more industries adopt specialised processes requiring lifting equipment designed specifically for their operations. Digitalisation is another growing influence, with digital inspections, reporting and life cycle monitoring helping organisations manage equipment more proactively. Attracting and developing talent remains a challenge
across the industry, but initiatives like GLAD are playing a significant role in raising awareness and encouraging people to consider lifting as a viable and rewarding career. Companies that support customers holistically and invest in people will be best placed to succeed.

Are there any projects or initiatives your company is working on that you’re excited about? There is a great deal happening within the business that I’m genuinely excited about. Our in house fabrication capability continues to expand, strengthening our ability to design and manufacture bespoke lifting solutions efficiently and to the highest standards. We are also investing heavily in our training offering,
expanding courses to meet the industry’s growing need for competence across wire rope inspection, lifting and slinging, forklift operations, height safety and other high risk areas. Alongside this, we are strengthening our inspection and repair services to provide more comprehensive life cycle support for customers. We continue to develop new engineered solutions for sensitive, irregular or challenging loads, helping customers operate more safely and efficiently. All of these initiatives support our long term mission: to deliver a fully integrated, one-stop, risk reduction focused service that customers can rely on.
