made significant advancements in the performance of its LP401 and LP402 tyres, designed for use in reach stackers and gantry cranes.

The enhanced tyres feature reinforced beads and sidewalls, offering exceptional durability and strength. Additionally, their specially formulated tread compound reduces heat buildup and increases scrub resistance, further improving their reliability in demanding port operations. The LP401 tyres for reach stackers come in multiple sizes: 12.00-24 with a 40 mm tread depth, 14.00-24 with a 53 mm tread depth, and 16.00-25 and 18.00-25 both with a 65 mm tread depth. The LP402 tyres, designed for rubber-

tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, are available in sizes 18.00L-25 and 21.00-25, with a tread depth of 44 mm.

“With the rising number of containers on

large vessels, port operators rely heavily on their equipment for fast and efficient loading and unloading. The last thing they want is unexpected downtime due to worn or damaged tyres. Based on feedback from global operators, we’ve optimized the LP401 tyres for reach stackers and LP402 tyres for RTGs. The improvements, along with an optimized tread compound, have resulted in a 30% increase in tyre durability, as well as better stability through an enhanced rubber-to-void ratio. We’ve also increased tread depths on the LP401 to further boost traction on hard surfaces,” said Jean-Paul Spijker, director, sales and marketing, Linglong Specialty Tire Europe. The process of loading and unloading container ships is crucial, involving teams of stevedores, crane operators, and

other port personnel working together to minimize turnaround time. This process requires specialized equipment like cranes, straddle carriers, and reach trucks, where operational reliability is critical. The improved performance and

durability of Linglong’s LP401 and LP402 tyres help operators minimize downtime for tyre maintenance, ensuring their equipment can operate continuously, day and night. Finally, looking toward the next

generation of young engineers, Finkbeiner has become an official dual partner of the DHBW (Duale Hochschule Baden- Wuerttemberg) Karlsruhe as part of its

partner of the DHBW Karlsruhe in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree programme. The Baden- Württemberg Cooperative State University is an institution of higher education with several campuses throughout the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany,” the company said in a statement. “With this partnership, we are investing in the future and offering students the opportunity to work on innovative lifting technology solutions in a practical way. Together we will continue to grow - with knowledge, technology and passion. “We look forward to working with the

Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Karlsruhe and to the future students who will become part of our team.” With continued government support,

advancements in AI and IoT, and the expansion of renewable energy projects, Germany is positioned to remain a leader in the global autonomous crane market. Alongside e-commerce and infrastructure development, the demand for autonomous cranes will only increase, ensuring their role in construction and industrial operations.
