GIS EXPANDS LPL LIGHTWEIGHT HOIST SERIES G

IS is expanding its LPL lightweight hoist series to meet a growing demand in the entertainment industry.

The new models build on the success

of the LPML250, which was designed for D8 applications, and now extend their capabilities to include D8+ and C1 installations. The LPL series, known for its light

weight and high lifting capacity, includes several models. The LPML250, weighing 12 kg, is the lightest hoist in its class with a 500 kg capacity in D8 applications. The LPL500 model, which weighs 23

kg, offers a maximum lifting capacity of 1,000 kg, while the LPL1000, at 46 kg, can handle up to 2,000 kg. Originally intended for mobile use

in environments such as concerts and outdoor events, the LPL hoists are now also suitable for fixed installations, such as those in theatres and concert halls, where safety is critical. The LPL range is now approved for D8+ applications,

which involves holding loads without secondary securing, and C1 applications, which are used for lifting loads above people.

Since its launch in 2020, the LPL series has gained attention for its performance and lightweight design, making it a popular choice among riggers who prioritize ease of use and portability. Ivan Muri, CEO of GIS AG, emphasized this expansion would allow the LPL range to be used in even more applications, further solidifying its place in the market. The LPL hoists feature larger chains

for increased load capacity while maintaining their compact design. According to Muri, this improved capacity reduces the number of hoists needed for a given load, offering efficiency benefits and cost savings. “The LPL chain hoists offer one of the best ratios of dead weight to load capacity in the industry,” he said.

GIS also highlights the reliability

and durability of the LPL series, which comes with a three-year warranty and an IP65 protection rating as standard. The hoists operate quietly and efficiently, thanks to a three-step drive system with helical gearing, and are designed for easy maintenance with their polygonal construction. Additionally, the hoists are available as part of a kit that includes a flight case and controller. GIS AG, headquartered in Switzerland, has manufacturing and support facilities in North America, Germany, and the UK. The company has produced over half a million hoists globally.
