Fleet preview Equipment: Technology & safety:

The sixth-generation model is the first CR-V to feature Honda’s ‘Sensing 360’ all-direction safety and driver- assist system, which can eradicate blind spots and improve collision avoidance in many ways. There’s also a driver attention monitor and traffic sign recognition system among a wide

suite of safety tech. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, the CR-V has plenty of cabin charging points front and back too.

Customers can expect 18in alloy wheels, a two-part glass sunroof, leather seats, heated at the front, a 10.25in driver display and 9in centre infotainment screen, plus front and rear parking sensors as standard. Boot space is considerably bigger than inside the previous CR-V. The hybrid e:HEV model offers 587 litres of boot space with the rear seats up (previously 472 litres) and 1079 litres with seats down, loaded to the window line. The plug-in e:PHEV offers even more – 617 litres with another 18 under the load floor – and 1118 litres max.

Costs:

The CR-V e:HEV is available in Elegance and Advance trim and CR-V e:PHEV in Advance Tech trim only. With plug-in hybrid versions of most cars commanding a premium over their hybrid and regular combustion-engined alternatives, it is expected that the CR-V e:PHEV will cost north of £42,000. It will go on sale before its regular hybrid version too – this summer – with first deliveries late 2023.

…Or maybe the smaller hybrid ZR-V or all-electric eNy:1?:

Honda is launching three SUVs into the UK in 2023. There’s also the ZR-V hybrid (driven in the next July issue), which at 4568mm long, sits well above its 4340mm UK-spec HR-V baby brother and will compete with the Renault Arkana (4568mm) and Mazda CX-5 (4575mm). The ZR-V has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, good interior space and a 380-1291-litre boot capacity. Honda is also bringing its second full-electric model to UK shores in the eNy:1 (an EV which has been on sale in China for some time). The shapely and closed-fronted 4390mm-long crossover offers a 68.8kWh battery good for 256 miles and a large 15.1in centre touchscreen to take on the likes of the Citroën e-C4. The ZR-V’s prices should start in the late £30,000s and be orderable from July for late 2023 delivery. The eNy:1 will have a likely £40,000 starting price and can be ordered slightly later from October for a January 2024 delivery.
