Fleet preview Technology:
The Audi Q6 E-Tron features the newly developed electronic architecture E3, allowing customers, Audi tell us, to experience digitalisation in the vehicle more directly than ever before. The name E3 stands for End-to-End Electronic Architecture. We’re told the overriding goal was to create a future-proof, standardised framework for the car. The function-oriented architecture is based on a new domain computer structure with five high-performance computers (High-Performance Computing Platform, HCP), which control all vehicle functions – from infotainment and driving functions through to semi-automated driving in later evolutionary stages. Audi tell us this is the most powerful electronic architecture to date in terms of computing power and is consistently geared towards customer requirements. The Audi Q6 E-Tron has a fully
connected and digital interior based on this new electronic architecture. Made up of the Audi MMI panoramic display and the MMI passenger display, the so-called Digital Stage is a key feature of the interior. An Augmented Reality Head-Up Display is another central element of the digital stage, and Audi’s self-learning voice-assistant, the Audi Assistant, also features and can be used to control numerous vehicle functions. Powerful, compact, and scalable electric motors, as well as a newly developed lithium- ion battery which has a total gross capacity of 100 kWh (94.9 net) ensures a range of up to 381 miles on UK models. Thanks to 800-volt technology and a maximum charging capacity of 270 kW as standard, short charging stops are possible with the Audi Q6 E-Tron. Up to 158 miles can be recharged in just 10 minutes at a high-power charging station on the quattro powertrain. The state-of-charge (SoC) increases from 10 to 80 per cent in around 21 minutes.
Equipment:
Audi has yet to share any specifications for UK Q6 E-Tron models – but we would expect them to be comparable to or better than European-spec cars.
Safety:
Other new safety technology debuting on this new Q6 E-Tron include a parking system with 360-degree display, swerve and turn assist, top- view camera, traffic-sign-based traffic sign recognition, intersection assist, lane departure warning, lane change assistant and exit warning system, rear cross traffic assist, rear turn assist, fitted from launch.
Costs:
Prices are already confirmed as starting at £69,700, but UK-specific specifications are expected at the end of April.
