As CEO of the Police Federation, I have made a commitment to ensure our members, wherever they may be in the country, are heard and their views are part of our cultural reset. We are working to take all the actions necessary to improve the culture within the community of PFEW.


THE IMPORTANCE OF HEARING FROM OUR MEMBERS An important aspect of improving engagement with members requires me to be more accessible. It is so crucial that I build that trust by meeting with our members and listening to their concerns first hand. I am more than prepared to listen and reflect, so I can act in the best interests of the Federation.


I have now issued the second in the series of CEO Direct where I answer questions submitted to me, these give an opportunity for me to respond directly to the issues that matter most.

OUT OF HQ AND INTO THE REGIONS In addition to the survey, I can better understand the concerns of all our members by going out to the regions across England and Wales and directly engage with our members. I have already begun to travel across the country to meet our Federation representatives, visiting both Merseyside and Northumberland earlier this month and visiting the Metropolitan Police Federation Front Line Policing Council meeting. On these visits, I met with

One theme of the recent CEO Direct was the internal culture and our recent Culture Survey, of which initial results have been shared with Federation representatives. This survey has helped us to quantify member concerns and begin to develop a plan of action to tackle the issues highlighted. The results have helped us to hone our targets for the year and focus our efforts on improving the things that matter most to our members. In the next few months, members and the public can expect to hear more from the Federation about how we plan to solve problems highlighted. Though there will be no “quick fixes” I can ensure readers that the Police Federation will work in a collaborative manner to ensure we make
