The mutual aid calendar has been jam-packed in recent years, from the Common Wealth Games in 2022 to the King’s Coronation last year, which was the biggest security operation in UK’s history; 2024 is shaping up to be just as busy. First up, the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League final is taking place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 1 June, followed by a major event in Portsmouth on 5 June to mark the D-Day campaign. The UK is also hosting the next European Political Community meeting on 18 July at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, which is expected to see around 50 world leaders in attendance.
