TAXIDERMY TAXI SERVICE TO TAKE CUSTOMERS TO BRAND NEW BRIGHTON BAR
These trendy brew- ers certainly aren’t flogging a dead horse by opening up their first pub in Sus- sex with a novel way of getting customers in.
Craft beer company BrewDog are running a taxidermy taxi service to celebrate the launch of their Brighton bar which opened over the bank holiday.
The Scottish firm offered customers in search of a stiff drink a macabre twist on the “quin- tessentially” British beach donkey ride over the bank holi- day weekend by
actually pulling cus- tomers along on a stuffed donkey. The brewers say the opening of the pub in Grand Parade, Brighton, marks the “arrival of the craft beer revolution on Brighton shores”. The move to the city is the latest step in the growth of the firm which is the fastest growing food and drinks company in the UK over the past three years.
The bar will be the brewers’ 31st world- wide since their first opening in 2010 and joins similar pubs in Tokyo, Barcelona, Florence and Sao
launched its fourth round in April this year and raised £5million in three weeks.

The 120-capacity venue will have 30 beers on tap includ- ing BrewDog fav- ourites iPunk IPA, Dead Pony Club, Jackhammer and Five AM Red Ale, small batch brews and a selection of guest and internation- al beers.

Co-founder James Watt said: “We’ve long been looking to open a beer mecca in Brighton because it’s a city with a cool, independent vibe and a growing craft beer scene. We are very keen to offer craft beer fans in the city something that they haven’t seen before.”

Covering a taxi in tin foil in the dead of night might be considered an act of vandalism. But to Mark Fleming, it is a welcome piece of street art.
The Hull Daily Mail reports that when taxi company owner Mr Fleming arrived at work last month, he was stunned to see his beloved black London cab had been trans- formed into a giant replica can of Spam. “I came into work first thing and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw what had been done,” he said. “It is completely cov- ered in tinfoil with the word ‘Spam’ stamp- ed across it, and there is even a spade sticking out to look like a ring pull to open a can.” Staff at 65 Taxis in Princes Avenue said they saw two people acting suspiciously

near the car at about 4.30am on Friday. They chased the men away from the car, but did not realise the extent of their prank until the morning. Mr Fleming said he believes it could be the handiwork of a local guerrilla street artist.
The businessman said he takes great pride in the London black taxi, which is stationed outside the business.
He bought it at auc- tion for £300, driving it back from the capi-
tal and parking it out- side the firm’s office, where it has re- mained ever since. Thankfully, the owner said he is very pleased with the new design and plans to keep it.
“This is a very artistic area and it is attract- ing lots of attention,” he said.
“So, even though it is covering up my com- pany logo, I am going to keep it on there. “I actually really like it, and I am the sort of person who can see the funny side.”
