This year’s PHTM Expo was a historic event as The Taxi Insurer and Clegg Gifford, both part of Markerstudy Group, combined forces to exhibit side by side for the first time.
Once again, the show proved to be a great success for both brokers as The Taxi Insurer picked up more than 40 leads for single taxis while Clegg Gifford came away with close to 40 leads for taxi fleets, the highest number it has ever received at the expo.
As in previous years, The Taxi Insurer’s competition giving visitors a chance to win £1,500 off their insurance premium in exchange for their contact details proved popular. This year’s lucky winner was hackney driver, Shabbir Master.
“We always enjoy coming to the PHTMExpo as it’s a great way for us to raise brand awareness,” said Amar Perviz, team leader at The Taxi Insure. “Our free flasks, water bottles, windscreen wipes and pens have been flying off the stand, and it’s been really rewarding working closely with our colleagues at Clegg Gifford.”
Amar was joined on The Taxi Insurer’s stand by head of taxi broking, Dave Sweeney, branch insurance partner, Amardeep Sidhu, and team leader, Suzanne Younis.
“As well as securing a record number of leads from this event, most of our leads related to fleets of 200-400 vehicles, so that’s a very positive outcome,” revealed Ashley Francis, senior underwriter at Clegg Gifford.
“We’re already looking forward to returning next year and presenting an even stronger combined presence and offering with The Taxi Insurer.”
Managing the Clegg Gifford stand with Ashley was David Hawthorne, head of taxi insurance.
To support the close working relationship between the two brokers, Clegg Gifford recently relocated its Birmingham premises to The Taxi Insurer’s office in Hall Green. From there, Clegg Gifford will manage all commercial leads, including motor trade and commercial property risks, as well as taxi fleet enquiries; The Taxi Insurer will focus on single taxi leads.
