NPHTA CONTINUES TO CROWN PROSECUTION SERVICES (CPS)
You simply MUST take these matters seriously, follow them through to courts, prosecute offenders.
Remember, when they report drivers, the driver will have action taken against them based only on the fact that the driver has no defence, and yet when it comes to driver attacks, hate crimes and racial abuse, the criminals are not being prosecuted despite having no defence, which then leads to less police action, less drivers reporting, and more criminals on the streets attacking people, why? Because you are not taking any action against them!
COURTS AND SENTENCING
When these cases come before the courts, magistrates and judges must not be swayed by the fact that the attackers are “trying to recover from drugs” or “recently got divorced” or “is really trying to rehabilitate after spending all their lives in prison for violent offences!” or “has been suffering from financial hardship”.
These people have just attacked a vulnerable person, have just committed a crime. Who cares about their sob stories. I mean come on, recently we saw a case where three youths were in court having assaulted a driver, and they were all acquitted due to a sob story. The driver still had the bruising and injuries both physical and psychological at their hands, and they are now laughing, and will do it again.
In every other walk of life, in every other work environment, “abuse will not be tolerated, offenders will be prosecuted” so why are our drivers not entitled to the same level of protection?
WHAT NEXT?
This is a national call to action, across all fronts: drivers, police, CPS, local authorities, governments, (regardless of

which ribbon you wear). We ALL have to change, or the murders, the actual or grievous bodily harm, the thefts, the abuse, the racial abuse, is going to get a lot worse, and soon.
IT IS ALREADY GROWING AT AN ALARMING RATE!
We see “protect the public,” but drivers are members of the public! What exactly are you, - those in authority, those with the power to make change happen - what are YOU doing to protect drivers and operators within our industry?
We should not need to be protesting, we should not need to be striking. We are the single largest workforce in the entire UK - we provide vital services to the elderly, to the special educational needs children, to front line workers, to the infirm, to the disabled, to the blind, even to you, the politicians getting to the train station to commute to parliament (yes, I heard it, thank you for that example).
But if something does not change, if improvements are not made to make our job safer, more secure, then we will be left with no other choice than protest and strike action.
Not just one region, but all of them, the entire country, as that will be the ONLY way to clearly show what this country will look like once we have been killed, maimed, abused, or even pushed out of existence as a result of additional overburdensome and restrictive new licensing policies, costs, and attitudes.
STAND UP – WAKE UP – SPEAK UP – JOIN UP
WE SIMPLY CANNOT SILENTLY PUT UP WITH IT ANY LONGER!!!
