18 MONTHS’ JAIL FOR FENHAM CABBIE WHO ARRANGED TO MEET 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL FOR SEX IN NEWCASTLE
A taxi driver who turned up hoping to have sex with a 14-year-old escort has been jailed. Mohammed Miah respond- ed to an online advert offering “real young girls in Newcastle now” and said he wanted a British girl. Chronicle Live reports that a court heard he agreed to pay £100 for sex with a child called Amber and turned up to meet her in Newcastle city centre. But it was a police sting and the 61- year-old pervert was arrested. Miah who admitted arranging or facili- tating a child sex offence, has now been jailed for 18 months at Newcastle Crown Court. It was in January last year that he responded to the advert on the Viva Street website. Prosecutor Michael Bunch said: “The defendant was told ‘the girls we have
working today are young, is that what you are looking for?’. “He clarified he wanted a girl who was British.” He was told: “We have our Amber who’s 14 years old, she’s available for full sex, are you happy with that?” Miah clarified he understood that she was 14 and confirmed he wanted to make a booking. An arrangement was made to meet in the city centre at 4.30pm that day and Miah was sent a postcode then directed to an exact location. When he turned up, police were waiting to arrest him. He told officers he had arranged to meet a girl aged over 18 for a massage.
But he later pleaded guilty to the offence. Sentencing him to 18 months, Judge Edward Bindloss told him he would have to sign the sex offenders register and be subject to a sexual harm pre- vention order, both for ten years. The judge told Miah: “You arranged to meet a child for sexual intercourse. From your perspective the 14-year-old girl was likely to be controlled and or emotionally vulnerable. “You nevertheless made the arrange- ment and travelled to meet her, when you were met by police because this was a sting operation.” Gavin Doig, defending, said there were references from Miah’s wife and daugh- ter saying he was a good husband and dad and added that he was not in good health and is remorseful.
“PREDATORY” LONDON PH DRIVER WHO “TARGETED VULNERABLE WOMEN” HAS PLEADED GUILTY TO RAPE
A PH driver who targeted vulnerable women in London has pleaded guilty to raping a woman in Croydon and sexually assaulting two others. Homayon Ahmadi, 23, from Uxbridge, entered the plea at Croydon Crown Court on Wednesday 26 January fol- lowing his arrest in December last year. My London reports that on April 19 2021 a 41-year-old woman called police and told them she had been picked up by a cab earlier that evening and, dur- ing her journey, the driver pulled over in the car and raped her. During an investigation into the incident, a 21-year-old woman called the police on July 25 of the same year and said that she and her friend had got into a cab in central London. Whilst on their cab journey the driver stopped at an off-licence to buy whisky, which he then offered to the

two women and asked them to come back to his home. The women attempted to get out of the car but Ahmadi grabbed the woman as they tried to leave and sexually assaulted them before driving away from the scene. Officers later identified a suspect buying whisky in a shop and Ahmadi was subsequently identified and arrest- ed following a CCTV appeal. During Ahmadi’s police interview he denied all the offences. A purple pencil case filled with condoms and baby oil were found in the glove compartment of his vehicle.
Detective Constable Natalie Alchin, who led the investigation, said: “Ahmadi is a dangerous and predatory offender who used his position as a private hire driver to target vulnerable women as they made their way home. “The victims in this case showed great courage in coming forward to police. They have played a vital part in his conviction and we hope that this case encourages other women who have been subject to sexual offences to come forward. “There may be other victims of Ahmadi who until now have not spoken to police. If you believe this is you, please contact us on 101. We have specialist officers who will support you. Ahmadi will be sentenced on Thursday March 3 at Croydon Crown Court after the initial hearing on Wednesday January 26.
