TAXING MATTERS EAZITAX LAUNCHES THE
‘OPERATOR PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME’
From April 2022, taxi and private hire drivers will have to pass tax checks before renewing or applying for their licences. This could lead to a record low amount of licence renewals when the deadline comes.
Private hire specialist accountants, Eazitax, has created a way for operators to prevent being left out in the cold. It is the first initiative of its kind in the industry. The new Operator Partnership Programme gives operators real help to keep their business and fleet out of HMRC’s bad books, and it’s also a free programme.
Gary Jacobs, Managing Director of Eazitax said: “Today’s operators exist in a much different world than they did even five years ago. The arrival of clean air charges, driver status issues and the rise of tech is making it harder for taxi and private hire drivers to maintain their bottom line. On top of that, HMRC now expects operators to take a hands-on approach to the tax problems of their drivers. Eazitax believes that its initiative can bring huge value to an operator's onboarding process”.
Here’s what Eazitax is delivering to members of its 100% free Operator Partnership Programme.
• Tax Training: will be built into your onboarding. This will include a choice of easy-to-digest webinars, videos or written materials.
• Drivers’ Tax Issues: with your permission, Eazitax can communicate with your drivers and provide confidential advice on their tax issues. Eazitax has particular experience with drivers who are resistant to change.
• Driver Discounts: Eazitax will create a dedicated landing page for each operator, giving their drivers a monthly discount on their tax returns.
• Expenses App: when operators join the partnership, every one of their drivers is given access to a specially designed expenses app.
• Happy Drivers: Drivers will have their taxes taken care of, confident that their financials are in order. They will no longer be up at night worrying about unpaid tax, and they will have their operator to thank for it.
