How many flights do you take a year? I take about 40 flights a year.
Any usual equipment you fly with? I always travel with my design kit, sunglasses, iPhone and music.
Any flights in your life that stand out? Flying has become a bit standardised for me over the past few years since I’ve been flying so often. The flights that really stand out are the early ones in my life when I would travel to Spain for the summer, lugging my skateboard and all my art supplies with me. Travel was exciting and new with an adventure awaiting at the end of the flight. In a way, a bit of that still remains.
How do you survive a long-haul flight? I have my routine down at this point. I don’t stress out about cancellations and delays. You just have to roll with the punches sometimes. I spend the first part of my flight designing and working since it’s quiet and I have time to focus without distractions. Then I will usually watch a movie or documentary if there is something that I haven’t seen. If I sleep, it’s in three-hour intervals and then I like to get up and walk around to stretch throughout the trip (it’s good to get up and move your body about every three hours). It definitely helps with jet lag and also puts less stress on the body.
Ultimate dream destination and why? Antarctica – I have always been interested in visiting there as it seems to me to be a location that not many get to visit. Visiting all of the continents is on my bucket list so I will get there sooner or later! Additionally, Africa is always inspiring to me.
Indispensable travel gadgets? Wireless earbuds. These are a must for anyone on the go!
How could airlines improve in-flight service?
I feel airlines should really look to the hospitality industry more and truly understand how customer service is more important than ever. Healthier food options on flights is definitely something I’m always looking for.
Top travel tips?
Try not to stress out; when you are travelling, things just tend to happen. You should try to be understanding and also willing to adjust to situations. It’s well known that kindness goes a long way! You should also be sure to keep hydrated. Global Entry and TSA pre-checks definitely help when travelling. Organise your trip, even for when you are in transit – it makes the journey much more enjoyable. Finally, bring along healthy snacks for the journey.

EVA AIR ROLLS OUT NEW AMENITY KITS
PASSENGERS travelling with Taiwanese carrier Eva Air in its Royal Laurel and Premium Laurel classes now receive brand- new Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kits. Since November 15, those travelling in the above-mentioned
classes on long-haul flights departing from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport are provided with a set of hard-case amenity kits that resemble a mini suitcase. The airline began giving Ferragamo soft-bag amenity kits to Royal Laurel and Premium Laurel class passengers on long-haul inbound flights to Taipei at the end of 2018. It now gives passengers the second-generation version of these amenity kits, which feature both Taiwan’s aboriginal rhombus totems and Western cultural elements. The airline says the amenity kits will also come with exclusive Ferragamo key chains, available for passengers in mid-December.
