CILIPS Conference 2024: Information for all
CILIPS Annual Conference is set to return to Dundee in June, with a call of Information for All setting the tone for 2024. Rob Green looks at what to expect from this year’s conference. Booking is open now and you can reserve your place at
www.cilips.org.uk/cilips24.
THE conference is a chance for library and information professionals from across Scotland (and further afield) to come together in person and explore the latest developments in the profession. Hosted by CILIPS President, Professor Diane Rasmussen McAdie, the event will feature a range of speakers, sessions and networking opportunities to help delegates explore this year’s theme.
Head of CILIP in Scotland Sean McNamara said: “We are delighted with the line-up of speakers this year and are looking forward to welcoming library and information workers from all across Scotland and beyond. We love returning to Dundee every year and this year’s programme is one of our biggest and most exciting yet”
The two-day event returns to Dundee and will take place on 3 and 4 June, bringing together speakers from across the information profes- sions, as well as writers and poets adding a literary take on proceedings.
The opening keynote will be delivered by James LaRue, Director of the Garfield County (Colorado) Public Library District and author of The New Inquisition: Understanding and Managing Intellectual Freedom Challenges and last year’s On Censorship: A Public Librar- ian Examines Cancel Culture in the US. James will look at the librarian’s role in upholding
