22 DIVERSITY, INCLUSION AND EQUALITY
Big ambitions for new D&I standard about to be unleashed
When the All-in Diversity Project was looking to advance the cause of diversity, inclusion and equality in the workplace, they turned to BSI for advice. The result is that they are now sponsoring PAS 1948:2020, a code of practice for any organization trying to create a fairer, more inclusive workplace.
C
hristina Thakor-Rankin and Kelly Kehn founded the All-in Diversity Project in 2017 to create tools for any organization looking to create a diverse and inclusive workplace
with all employees being valued for who they are. “We were helping organizations on a one-to-one basis but realized that if we could create a template or blueprint that organizations could refer back to, we could have a wider impact,” said Christina. After doing some research, they decided to approach BSI and sponsor a standard. Their
aim was to give organizations who didn’t know where to start the confi dence to build a diversity, inclusion and equality framework from scratch. The result is PAS 1948:2020 (see pop up).
The international reputation of BSI was critical to their plan. “The BSI stamp is an international brand and it enables us to reach a far wider audience. Because a PAS brings together a diverse range of experts and is built on consensus, it comes from a place of authenticity and integrity and is based upon practical experience so it has real provenance.”
