Ramona JHS Student s Pay Tr ibute to Basketball

Legend Kobe Bryant There are events in our youth that have a significant impact on what we remember and the passing of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, and seven other passengers has proven to be one of those events for many in the community. Students at Ramona JHS in Chino wanted to honor the loss of Kobe by designing a memorial banner. Students signed the banner and expressed messages of gratitude and condolences to the Bryant family.

After school on Friday, January 31, Ramona Assistant Principal, Mr. Gumarang, drove to Los Angeles to add the banner to the growing memorial outside Kobe's home court, the Staples Center. Before walking away Mr. Gumarang was approached by media representatives and asked to share how his students rallied together to create the artwork. Parent s Join Dist r ict Student Resource

Of f icers for Parent Informat ion Forum On Wednesday, January 22, parents gathered in the MPR at Chino Hills HS to discuss mental health awareness, drug abuse trends, social media responsibilities, and technology issues that our youth face. The workshop began with a welcome message from Superintendent Norm Enfield, and moved into the presentation where SROs shared videos and personal testimonies.

A huge thank you to Nutrition Services for providing attendees a wonderful dinner, childcare and translation professionals that offered their services, and the parents and guardians who attended. School, community and family partnerships such as the Parent Information Forum help us support our students!
